Brief reflections on the N.C. Alliance for Public Charter Schools’ conference

written by Frank Williams

Yesterday I had the chance to facilitate a workshop at the N.C. Alliance for Public Charter Schools‘ inaugural conference in Raleigh.  The topic was public relations strategies and tools, so I was wearing my Pioneer Strategies hat.  I’ve posted a few pictures from the event on Facebook.

During the conference I had the chance to talk with people involved with charter schools throughout the state.  It was interesting to hear the perspectives of people from a variety of political persuasions and backgrounds who, in spite of their other differences, all support and believe in public charter schools.   I was glad to be able to support their cause by participating in the conference.

A Pre-Primary Note to Our Republican Candidates

written by Frank Williams

ncgoponegoallogoEarlier today I sent the following note to the three Republican Congressional candidates in the 7th District, and to legislative candidates in contested primaries whose districts overlap with the 7th District.

Text of E-Mail:

May 3, 2010

Dear Candidate,

The primary election is upon us.  The final votes will be cast tomorrow, and by Wednesday we will know which of you will carry the Republican Party’s banner this November (except in the case of any races that require runoffs).

Conservative Energy on the Ground in Southeastern North Carolina

written by Frank Williams

During the month of March I attended county GOP conventions in nine southeastern North Carolina counties.  Everywhere I went, there were big crowds of enthusiastic conservatives ready to roll up their sleeves and work to take back our state and nation.  This was true even in rural counties long dominated by Democrats.

In addition to attending nine county conventions, the 7th District Republican Party has held three debates among the Republican candidates for Congress.  The first debate, held in Brunswick County, attracted over 200 people.  The second and third debates, which were both held in rural, Democrat-dominated counties (Duplin and Columbus), each attracted around 50 people — a far cry from the phone booths in which many local Republican organizations were once able to meet.
