How will the Democrats respond to Scott Brown’s victory?
It will be interesting to see how the Democrats react to Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts.
Will they try to use a nuclear option to jam the so-called healthcare “reform” bill through? Will they try to push it through before Brown is seated, as some have speculated?
Or will they hear the voice of the people?

Gov. Mike Huckabee’s strong statement against a government takeover of our healthcare system
I receive lots of political information from a variety of sources. The following was included in a post on the blog managed by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s PAC (HuckPAC):
“Huck PAC will not endorse any Republican candidate that votes for the government takeover of health care. And if we have endorsed your campaign, and you vote for this monstrosity of a bill, we will revoke your endorsement immediately.”
Pretty strong statement.
Shuler still not running for Senate
Under the Dome reported today that Democrat Congressman Heath Shuler has once again said that he does not plan to challenge Republican U.S. Senator Richard Burr in 2010, despite much media speculation to the contrary.
According to Under the Dome, the Hendersonville Times News quoted Shuler as saying, “I am not running for Senate. I am not running for Senate. I am not running for Senate. I have said that a thousand times, and I don’t know why they keep coming up (with the idea). Of course they keep coming up and running polls.”
Elaine Marshall considering US Senate run?
According to this post on Under the Dome, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall is considering a run for Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in 2010; the Democratic nominee would face Republican incumbent Richard Burr.
Other Democrats who appear to be considering Senate runs include: U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre (7th District), former State Senator Cal Cunningham of Lexington and former Obama fundraiser Kenneth Lewis, a Durham attorney. Congressman Heath Shuler (11th District) had previously ruled out a run, but may be reconsidering. Former State Treasurer Richard Moore is also on the Democrats’ list of potential recruits.
